It's a Bird
It's a Plane
It's Kindergarten!
In Kindergarten we assign homework on Monday (or the first day of the school week), and ask for it to be completed by Monday of the following week. Our homework assignments usually consist of 4 or 5 activities including Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies. We also assign special projects during the year which will be explained in detail. Projects are usually assigned over the course of 2 to 3 weeks.
We encourage the children to work on their activities throughout the week and not leave them all until Sunday evening. If, however, your child finds that they can not complete the homework, please drop me a note or email me to let me know. I will certainly give them the extra time needed.
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT
AS KINDERGARTEN BEGINS, WE WILL BE PERFECTING BASIC SKILLS. WE WILL BE TAKING EXTRA TIME TO FINE TUNE D'NEALIAN LETTER FORMATION AND NAME WRITING. WE WILL ALSO BE WORKING ON FLUENT LETTER RECOGNITION, NUMBER RECOGNITION, ALPHABETICAL ORDER, AND NUMBER ORDER. THESE HOMEWORK ACTIVITIES MAY SEEM EASY, BUT THEY ARE THE STRONG FOUNDATION NEEDED FOR A WONDERFUL KINDERGARTEN YEAR! SO PLEASE SPEND EXTRA TIME CHECKING OVER ANY PRACTICE PAGES WE SEND HOME RELATED TO THESE SUBJECTS AND MAKE SURE STUDENTS ARE WORKING DILIGENTLY. I KNOW EVERY STUDENT WILL DO THEIR BEST!
